In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a stark and beautiful landscape architectural image. Craig discusses the psychological impact of black and white and dramatic archetypes. Craig talks about quality of line, simplicity and repetition. Craig talks about the difficulty from a visual design standpoint of having corners cut off by diagonals. Craig also discusses balance and using image rotation to look at an image in a slightly more abstract way to be able to better visually feel the intrinsic visual weight of each subject in the frame. Craig discusses the possibility of a horizontal composition that uses a very long leading line from the right to be a visual counter weight to the subject of the church in the top left of the image.
